I have been really busy lately. I have been working on a quilt.

Last weekend I cleaned the basement. And even though we have been in our new house for a year now we have about 30 boxes that we haven't unpacked yet. Some of those boxes had my fabric in them. Over 200 yards of cotton just ready to be made into quilts or bags.

The best find was this little treasure.

I bought this fabric on a 50% off sale about 4 years ago. It is part of Jinny Beyers Jaipur fabric.

The store I was at was close to our house at that time and I bought 8 yards of this thinking it was a really nice fabric I could use for a backing of a quilt. So I went home and looked up the fabric on-line and found this.

I fell in love with this quilt. So the next day after work I went back over to the store and bought up all the fabric I could for this quilt. Including the border fabric.

And ordered the pattern from the Jinny Beyer website.

Obviously I didn't get started on this right away. It got stashed away. Until last weekend. I got out all the fabric and got started right away.

I pieced together the pink first.

Then I made some of the center pieces.

Eventually getting a full block pieced together.

5 days later I have about half the quilt done.

it always amazes me how patterns that are so very different can actually go
together in a quilt. whereas they don't work if, say, you were wearing them.
