Three years ago today it was Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving came early in 2005, and so did Cooper, four weeks early to be exact. Cooper was born three years ago today. It was definitely a day to give thanks. I won't go into the whole story but in the end we ended up with a healthy, 7 lbs baby boy and Chris and I had no idea what to do. That feeling lasted through the whole first year of Cooper's life. But after 3 years I think Chris and I are starting to get the hang of this parenting thing. This weekend we had a little party for Cooper, nothing big, grandma and granpa came over, we opened presents, had some pizza, and topped the morning off with cake and a very, very bad rendition of Happy Birthday, thank goodness Cooper didn't care about how off key we all were. We started off the morning opening a few presents. Then Cooper had to stop to have a few stories read. And Grandpa had to teach Coop how to use his new Thomas the Train log cutter. And we can't forget about all our new cooking utensils (I think we have a chef in the making). After about an hour and a half we finally made it through all the presents, ending with the Bob the Builder construction set. We never need to worry about anything needing to be fixed in our house again. Cooper is more then capable of fixing anything with his all of the new tools he got. We all put on hats for the celebration! The day turn out being great and Cooper fell asleep Saturday night saying, "Thank you for all my presents." Three years ago Chris and I had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. And after three years I can say that we never could have imagined all the joy and love that little guy brings us each day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY COOPER! Love Mom and Dad
